The Register is reporting that Einstein is not the only person who can claim to have invented the theory of relativity. Apparently, two others were involved. What is more disconcerting, is that it claims Einstein could have stolen the formulae from a fellow scientist! Every dog has its day, I should say!

That was interesting to know... Much of our vedic texts speaks of the science that was discovered in the last century.. the prominent one i can remember on top of my head are
- the Darwinian evolution which gets a mention in Upanishads (in a religious flavour) ..
- Big bang theory, Stephen Hawkingin brief history of time says it is pointless to look beyond what happened before bang.. the same concept is touched up in a religious perspective in Upanishads...

These are just my thoughts I dont mean to say they too plagiarized :-)

Einstein's Annus Mirabilis: 1905

This was the miraculous year, where Einstein worked and published that four revolutionary papers on physics.

1. In March 1905, Einstein creates The Quantum Theory of Light, the idea that light exists as tiny packets (photons).

2. In April and May, he invents a new method of counting and determining the size of the atoms or molecules in a given space and explains the phenomenon of Brownian motion.

3. And then, in June, Einstein completes special relativity.

4. Later in 1905 comes an extension of special relativity in which Einstein proves that energy and matter are linked in the most famous relationship in physics: E=mc2.

The question now is: was he responsible for all these alone? Did his wife, Mileva Maric, a fellow scientist herself, help him? Or didn't she? Did he copy from Hilbert? Or did he not? Whatever you choose to answer, Albert Einstein will still be regarded as 20th century's greatest scientist.
